The senior systems engineer reports functionally to the Chief Engineer - Weapons Carriage and Release and will have the day-to-day responsibility for system requirements, trade studies, and technical planning of systems engineering, integration, verification and validation activities for various military systems for current and future aircraft. The senior system engineer will lead system engineering activities. Tasks include managing, developing and allocating system requirements, performing system trades, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses, planning SE tasks, providing SE inputs into the SEP/IMP/IMS, and coordinating engineering activities with other stakeholders including the customer. The candidate should ideally have 15 years experience in the aerospace industry with experience in system engineering methodology, requirements analysis and allocation to hardware and software systems, interface control documents, and verification and validation. Requirements: Requires a BS in mechanical, electrical, systems or aerospace engineering (Masters Degree preferred). DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) Certification is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess at least 15 years of progressive experience in developing and delivering products in a defense contractor environment. This includes two or more full cycles in system development role from project initiation to qualification. The ideal candidate will be: Proficient in Matlab, Mathcad, C++ or a combination there of. Familiar with DOORs or other requirements management software. Familiar with Unigraphics or CATIA V5. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project. Possess good oral and written communication skills as well as being comfortable in making presentations. Problem solver with sound judgment and decision-making skills. |
